BEAUMONT, Calif. (KNX) — Lane and ramp closures are scheduled to continue next week on Interstate 10 between Beaumont and the Coachella Valley in Riverside County, Caltrans announced Friday.
Crews have been working overnight to make improvements on 20 miles of freeway between Beaumont and Highway 111 near Palm Springs. It’s all part of a two-year regional pavement rehabilitation project, known as the I-10 Tune-Up.

The project includes replacing guard rails, repaving lanes, and upgrading on- and off-ramps to comply with the federal American with Disabilities Act.
Work is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2022.
Alternating lane and ramp closures will continue Sunday through Thursday beginning at 7p.m. and ending at 6 a.m. the following morning. Closures will affect the entire length of the project westbound and eastbound between Beaumont and Banning.
The westbound Main Street on- and off-ramps will be closed on march 11, but will reopen March 21. Caltrans has recommended drivers detour along Morongo Trail.
