“No bans, no walls. Everyone's welcome here,” Masih Fouladi with the California Immigrant Policy Center  told KNX News’ Karen Adams. “And now as our brothers and sisters in Los Angeles are being targeted by ICE, we're here to draw attention to this ban, but also to stand in solidarity with them.”

The travel ban impacts citizens of 12 countries, including Haiti, Afghanistan, and the Republic of Congo.

Hussam Ayloush, executive director of the Council on American Islamic Relations Los Angeles, said people are fearful of traveling in and out of the U.S. because of the travel ban.

“There are U.S. citizens who could easily, should be able to travel safely, but now they're afraid because they come from certain countries included in the ban,” he said.

The travel ban went into effect on Monday in the midst of several days of federal immigration raids and protests in Los Angeles. Trump deployed the National Guard to L.A. over the weekend in a move that Gov. Gavin Newsom described as a “provocative show of force” meant to “escalate tensions and incite violence.”
