North Hollywood man wanted for murder leads Ontario police on high-speed chase

LOS ANGELES (KNX) — A North Hollywood man wanted for an Ontario murder was arrested late Monday night at the end of high speed chase.

Ontario police said they were first called at 11:24 p.m. to the 1700 block of East D Street for a shooting that occurred.

Responding officers learned that the suspect, 31-year-old Gilbert Conorquie, was involved in an altercation with the victim in front of the residence before Conorquie allegedly shot the victim multiple times and fled the scene.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Responding officers saw Conorquie drive away from the residence at a high rate of speed, according to police. After he failed to stop, police said a vehicle pursuit began, ending in North Hollywood, where Conorquie pulled over and complied with officers’ demands.

Conorquie was taken into custody without incident, according to police. Officers found a firearm in his vehicle.

Conorquie was booked at the West Valley Detention center on charges of murder and felony evading in addition to numerous weapons charges.
