An Orange County fire cadet who survived cancer is in critical condition after being hit by a suspected DUI driver.
On Oct. 8, Christian Bedolla, 21, and a friend were driving home when they were hit by a driver who ran a red light, according to a GoFundMe for Bedolla.

Bedolla is in the ICU where he is being treated for “significant injuries to his collarbone, pelvic bone, vital organs, and his brain.”
It comes after Bedolla was declared cancer-free after he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2019.
OCFA Battalion Chief Brett Buffington told KNX News’ Emily Valdez that Bedolla had just returned as a cadet to the Orange County Fire Authority.
“I can only think of his parents, his family, his loved ones that have to go through all the heartache and devastation they've gone through with cancer, cancer treatment, the recovery, and then now something like this,” he said.
KTLA reported the driver was arrested for a DUI and that they remain in custody on $75,000 bail.
As of Tuesday morning, the GoFundMe for Bedolla has raised $41 447.
