Orange County is refusing as of now to require vaccine passports.

Supervisors Andrew Do and Don Wagner say vaccinations should never be required to access government services and government must never discriminate against its citizens.

But County Health Officer Clayton Chau says businesses can't be stopped by his department from requiring these passports.

"What happened is if an individual comes to us and require us or demand that we show them proof of vaccination, we are working on issuing a digital vaccination administration record...but they have to request it," he says.

Chau says his department is only offering this as a service to people and is not taking a stand on whether passports should be required.
