Officials broke ground on a new tiny home village in Van Nuys on Thursday.
The homes will be located behind the Van Nuys train station, according to KNX News’ Emily Valdez.
"This site will provide 50 residential prefabricated units with a capacity of two persons per unit,” Steven Fierce, Bureau of Engineering, told Valdez. “Then the site will serve up to 100 individuals.”
Amy King, CEO of Pallet Shelter, told Valdez it can also house pets.
“The product is made for pet care, easy to clean, and made for that purpose because we know a lot of people won't come inside if they can't bring their pets,” she said.
It’s the fourth time a tiny village is going up in Councilmember Adrin Nazarian’s district.

“ It's effective work like this, making sure that people are housed,” Nazarian said. “People are not facing the outside elements and circumstances that put them in harm's way.”
The tiny homes open in 2026.
