The Olympic and Paralympic flags were unveiled Thursday at Los Angeles City Hall as the city prepares to host the 2028 Olympic Games.

“For Angelenos, the 2028 games means an opportunity to bring urgency behind many important infrastructure projects,” Mayor Karen Bass said at the ceremony. “A Greener Los Angeles, a Los Angeles that is easier to get around, a Los Angeles where all residents are connected to one another.”

City Council President Paul Krekorian said the games give L.A. the opportunity “to show the world that this city is still the city to watch.”

The flags are now on display in enclosed cases right next to the mayor’s office on the third floor of City Hall.
