One construction worker was killed and another was injured in an accident at Villa Park High School on Thursday morning.
Just after 10 a.m., the bleachers in the school gym collapsed amid a renovation project. Both men were found under the bleacher seats.
“Firefighter paramedics treated and transported one patient to a local trauma center, and unfortunately the second person was pronounced deceased on scene,” Orange County Fire Authority Captain Sean Doran said.

No students or staff members were present at the time of the accident, which remains under investigation.
