Over half of Angelenos think the mayor mishandled wildfires

A new poll revealed most people in Los Angeles aren't happy with Mayor Karen Bass' response to the historic wildfires.

The poll, conducted by David Wolfson and backed by Madison McQueen, found that 54% of residents disapproved of how she handled the wildfires while 37% approved it.

It also found that if the 2026 Mayoral Election were today and were between Bass and businessman Rick Caruso (who ran for mayor in 2026), 36% would vote for Bass and 43% would vote for Caruso.

The poll was done in mid-January and has a 4-point margin of error.
