On the evening of March 20, 2021, Pomona officers responded to a crash at the intersection of Holt Boulevard and Erie Street. Officers learned a pickup truck left the scene, later discovering that the driver — identified as Garcia — had been shot.

Garcia was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said.

Camarillo and Silva later confessed their involvement in the murder to detectives, police said. They were booked at the Pomona City Jail.

Camarillo was charged with murder, shooting at an occupied vehicle, and felon in possession of a fire arm. He is currently being held on $4 million bail, according to sheriff’s inmate records.

Silva was charged with accessory after the fact and is being held on $2 million bail.

Both men are scheduled to appear in court on March 24.
