In a joint statement, the City of Pasadena, Pasadena Unified School District, and Pasadena Police Department reassured residents that local schools and services remain safe for everyone regardless of immigration status.

“We recognize that the recent election and some of the intense rhetoric surrounding it may be impacting individuals in our community,” the statement said. “It’s important to reaffirm our shared commitment to safety and respect for all, regardless of race, immigration status, identity, or circumstance.”
The statement says city employees will continue to provide services without discrimination and, under a policy adopted in 2017, “are prohibited from assisting in federal immigration enforcement unless legally required.”
Local churches, including All Saints Church and Pasadena Mennonite Church, also reaffirmed their commitment to being sanctuary spaces for those in need.
