MONTCLAIR, Calif. (KNX) — A man is wanted by Montclair police in connection with an alleged robbery and assault of an elderly man in February.
The victim, Thamrin Laksmana, was withdrawing money from an ATM in the 9700 block of Central Avenue on Feb. 16 when the assailant “physically attacked him,” absconding with his money and wallet, according to a Montclair Police Department Facebook post.
Laksmana’s daughter, Astrid Oka, told KTLA the attack caused him to hit his head. He lost consciousness and was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for internal bleeding in the brain.
“The family and I are hoping that this guy will get [caught] and pay for what he did to my dad,” Oka said.
The suspect was described as a white male believed to be between 25 and 35 years old, with a red beard. He was last seen driving a silver or tan Chevrolet Silverado, possibly a 2016-2019 model. The vehicle may be affixed with a California handicap license plate.
Anyone with information on the incident or who may recognize the suspect has been asked to call the Montclair Police Department at (909) 621-4771, or Detective Joshua Garabedian at (909) 448-3643.
