Authorities Wednesday sought the public's help to find a man who shot and wounded a woman in the downtown Los Angeles area while riding a moped.

The crime occurred at about 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 in the 300 block of North Figueroa Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

"The victim was sitting in her vehicle and waiting to pick up her brother from work when she was shot several times by the suspect riding a moped," an LAPD statement said.

Police released security images of the man, described as 30 to 40 years old, wearing a bright yellow vest, a full face mask and gloves. The wounded woman was hospitalized with stable vital signs.
