LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Police have asked for the public’s help in identifying suspects who pistol-whipped a Lamborghini driver during an attempted robbery in downtown Los Angeles late Sunday night.
The victim reportedly dropped off a friend after the pair dined in Hollywood, and was driving back to his residence shortly after 11 p.m. when he noticed a white sedan was following him.
L.A. police said the victim turned his Lamborghini down an alley and parked his car next to the door leading to his apartment building in the 1100 block of South Grand Avenue, near Olympic Boulevard. The white sedan and another car followed the victim and stopped in the middle of the alley.
As the victim approached the rear entrance of his apartment building, two males emerged from the sedans “while additional suspects remained in their vehicles.” One pointed a gun at the victim and demanded his watch.
“The victim became involved in a physical altercation with the suspects and was subsequently pistol-whipped,” according to the LAPD.
An ensuing scuffle was captured on surveillance video. After several minutes of fighting, the suspects got back into their cars and fled. It was not immediately known if they stole anything from the victim; nor was the extent of any injuries inflicted on the victim.
The male who pointed the gun has been described as wearing a blue hoodie, black pants, and white shoes. His alleged co-assailant wore a dark hoodie, dark pants, and white shoes.
One of the suspects’ cars was described as possibly being a white Volkswagen, while the other was described as possibly a silver Nissan.
