As temperatures warm up, rattlesnakes can come out of their burrows. But there’s no need to fear them, Joseph Hart aka ‘The Reptile Hunter’, told KNX News Nataly Tavidian.

“Let me tell you right now, no one ever in history has been chased by a rattlesnake,” he said. “They want nothing, absolutely nothing to do with you.”

He said rattlesnakes are “sweethearts.” That’s not the only misconception people have about rattlesnakes or snakes in general.

“There are no poisonous snakes. They're venomous,” he said. “There's a big difference.”

Hart added that rattlesnakes are the only venomous snakes in California and that all people have to do is leave them alone. He said rock climbers should keep an eye out as rattlesnakes like hanging out around rock piles.
