Redondo police shot and killed a gunman suspected of wounding two people at the Redondo Beach Pier Wednesday night.
On Thursday morning, investigators said RBPD officers first responded to the scene around 9 p.m. Wednesday, after reports of shots fired.
Two males, described as a man and a juvenile boy, were found wounded at the pier. Both were taken to the hospital where they are now in stable condition, police said. At this time, investigators do not think they knew their attacker.
The shooting of the alleged gunman happened during a search of the area Wednesday night, according to police. They said the man, armed with a gun and knife, was shot during a confrontation with officers.
