A Rialto man was arrested in the death of his estranged wife’s dog.
Last weekend, police say someone witnessed 61-year-old Terry Bolton beat Prada to death with a hammer and called police right away. Prada’s body was found in a dumpster.
Capt. Lamont Quarker said Bolton ran away but was arrested minutes after officers arrived.
“His estranged wife was not at the scene when this took place, so she was met with some very devastating news. Once witnesses and family members called her and told her what happened,” he told KNX News’ Emily Valdez.
The San Bernardino County District Attorney charged him with felony animal cruelty and use of a dangerous weapon.
Bolton’s bail was set at $1 million.
