RIALTO, Calif. (KNX) — A Rialto woman is facing murder charges after her older sister died from apparent stab wounds, local police said Thursday.
On Sunday, police responded to a report of a stabbing at a home in the 1800 block of North Sage Avenue shortly before 12:30 a.m. Officers found 37-year-old Sasha Pye or Rialto unresponsive and suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Pye was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The victim’s sister, 35-year-old Kristina Pye, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder, police said.
In the early hours of Thursday morning, Sasha Pye died from her wounds.
As a result, the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office updated murder charges against Kristina Pye, while they were pending, from attempted murder to murder.
