Rocks tumble onto Pacific Coast Highway, roadway closed

Wednesday’s rainstorm forced the closure of Pacific Coast Highway as heavy rain renewed the threat of dangerous mudslides.

Much of Los Angeles was hit with rain for around 6 hours on Wednesday night, bringing down some rocks and mud on PCH in Malibu and the Pacific Palisades. Caltrans set up a checkpoint at Entrada Dr. to keep drivers out of the danger zone.

KNX News’ Craig Fiegener reports that the checkpoint made Thursday’s morning commute frustrating for drivers, including workers removing debris from houses in the Palisades Fire burn scar.

“Usually we don't work in this rain, but they're working through everything, you know?” one worker said.
