BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (KNX) — A safe holding between $4,000 and $5,000 was stolen from a COVID-19 testing site in Beverly Hills early Wednesday morning.

"It's very unfortunate during these challenging times a person would go to these lengths," Steve Farzam, chief operating officer for 911 COVID, which operates the site at 9900 Santa Monica Boulevard, told City News Service. "It's a sad day for us. At least no one was hurt."

911 COVID operates four testing centers throughout Los Angeles, providing same-day and mobile COVID testing services.

Farzam said a security alarm at the site was triggered at around 3 a.m.

Beverly Hills police responded to the scene, and as of Wednesday moring were still conducting their investigation.

Farzam said security cameras at the site were disabled.
