A popular July 4 fireworks show that typically happens at Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro was canceled Thursday.

This event has been going on for 75 years, but there’s been uncertainty around the show this year. According to the Press-Telegram, the company that was set to put on the firework show told organizer Gary Dwight of the Cabrillo Beach Boosters they wouldn’t be able to follow through.

The Cabrillo Beach Boosters haven’t been able to find a new producer for the event, so they’ve decided to cancel the fireworks show and replace it with a drone show. The company producing the drone show was already booked for July 4, so the event has been moved to July 6.

Another firework show called “Big Bang on the Bay” in Long Beach was also canceled this year.

The Daily Breeze reported it’s becoming more difficult to put on firework shows because vendors are harder to find, the cost of insurance is increasing, and permits have to be in place to do a show over the water.
