The Sandy Fire continued to grow on Thursday, reaching 2,115 acres with a 30% containment.
According to CalFire, 1,121 fire personnel are working to contain the fire. Over 100 engines were deployed with 23 hand crews, eight dozers, and two water tenders.
The fire started Monday around 10 a.m. off Sandy Ave. and quickly grew. As of Thursday, at least one home was reported to be destroyed in the fire. No injuries have been reported.
SCHOOLS:
Due to the fires, officials with the Simi Valley Unified School District said schools will be closed for the rest of the week.

ROAD CLOSURES:
Per CalFire, the following roads are closed:
- Bell Canyon Road is closed in both directions from Overland Drive
- Katherine Road at railroad tracks
- Clear Springs Road from Santa Susana Pass Road to Katherine Road
- Oak Knolls Road @ Southern Oaks Avenue
- Crinklaw Lane
- Santa Susana Pass Road at railroad tracks
- Santa Susana Pass Road at Box Canyon Road
SHELTERS:
For overnight stays, people can head to Rancho Santa Susana Community Park, located at 5005 E Los Angeles Ave.
For animals, small domestic animals can go to Simi Valley Animal Shelter, located at 670 W Los Angeles Ave., or Camarillo Animal Shelter, located at 600 Aviation Dr.
Horses and livestock can be taken to the Ventura County Fairgrounds located at 10 E Harbor Blvd.
