
SANTA ANA (CNS) - A pedestrian was stuck and killed Saturday morning by a vehicle in Santa Ana, authorities said.
Police and fire department personnel dispatched to the location at about 4:30 a.m. Saturday reported the pedestrian dead at the scene, according to Detective Sgt. Richard Shin of the Santa Ana Police Department.
"The driver of the vehicle was traveling northbound on Orange (Street) at Edinger (Avenue) when he stopped because he believed he had driven over an object," Shin said. "When he (the driver) exited his vehicle, the driver discovered a pedestrian was trapped underneath his vehicle.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation when police arrived."
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
