TEMECULA, Calif. (KNX) — An employee of a Temecula private school has been fired after she was recorded on video making racist comments against Asians.

"Go back to China!" Sandra Miller, formerly an employee of Linfield Christian School, can be heard saying in the video, posted and now deleted from TikTok. "America is a free country!"

Miller can also be heard saying she is glad America is "not communism" and "not their country," referring to the people who recorded the clip. It was not known when the incident, which went viral over the weekend, actually took place.

"This racist couple started calling us racial slurs out of nowhere and blamed Asians for starting COVID," a caption on the original TikTok video alleged. "They continued to say racist comments loudly for us to hear, so we confronted them."

The couple reportedly focused their comments in anti-Chinese rhetoric, though the people recording the video said they were not of Chinese descent.

Linfield Christian has not disclosed what position Miller held at the school prior to her firing.

"After speaking with Miller regarding the incident, Linfield has terminated her employment indefinitely," a statement published by the Temecula school on Monday read. Miller's comments "do not reflect the beliefs of Linfield, are inconsistent with Linfield's mission statement, and fail to meet the behavior Linfield expects employees to model for its students.

Miller's husband, Roger Miller, has worked as director of recreation and golf services for the city of Coronado in San Diego County. He was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation on Monday, according to a statement by city officials.
