Schools are open again in Pasadena too, welcoming preschoolers through second graders back to campuses.
Pasadena School District Superintendent Brian McDonald tells KNX 1070 News he's excited to see students in classrooms again and says he's confident kids can get back on track.
"I know that our teachers have done an amazing job of teaching remotely and what we have done, in terms of curriculum and instruction, is we have modified the curriculum to teach those essential standards that the kids must master and strip away some of the other supporting standards," he says.
McDonald does admit it will take some time for kids to fully get up to speed again.
Pasadena schools do require daily temperatures checks for students and have air purification systems.
Kids in grades three through 12 will return to campuses next Tuesday.
