LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Rams coach Sean McVay put to rest speculation he plans to walk away from coaching Los Angeles’ NFL team to take a job in sports broadcasting.

The report comes after McVay reportedly demurred in an interview with The Los Angeles Times about whether he’d commit to coaching the team next season. “We’ll see,” the coach said cryptically.

Speculation about the coach’s possible impending departure redoubled after the Ras’ Super Bowl LVI win, when the 36-year-old told reporters, “I know I love football and I’m so invested in this thing and I’m in the moment right now. But at some point, too, if you said what do you want to be able to do? I want to be able to have a family and I want to be able to spend time with them.”

The New York Post had reported Friday that McVay was to meet with Amazon development executives next week about the possibility of hosting Thursday Night Football on Prime Video this fall — for a whopping five-year $100 million contract.

In a tweet published on Friday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter said McVay told the network he was not pursuing any opportunities in TV and was committed to coaching the Rams through 2022.
