Search underway for convicted carjacker who walked out of L.A. reentry program

LOS ANGELES (KNX) – Officials are searching for a 34-year-old who walked out of a Los Angeles reentry program.

On Saturday around 10 p.m., Oscar Orozco walked out of a Male Community Reentry Program facility, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said.

Orozco was sentenced on June 14, 2020 to serve 12 years for carjacking with a firearm. He was also convicted of drug charges while he was in prison.

Orozco is described by officials as “5’11, 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.” He also has a tattoo around his neck and under his chin, according to City News Service.

He was wearing a dark sweatshirt and gray pants that had been cut into shorts.

Anyone with any information about his whereabouts is urged to immediately call 911.
