Beginning Monday, a stretch of Wilshire Blvd. through Beverly Hills will be shut down for three weeks as work continues on the D-Line subway extension.
The closure will be between Crescent Dr. and El Camino Dr. and go until April 7.
David Sotero with Metro told KNX News’ Jon Baird that doing it this way will save “many, many weekends of having to do that work.”
“We're going to be removing that concrete deck from the streets and then restoring some water mains underneath the street and then putting a road surface back on Wilshire Blvd. to allow motorists to continue to travel through Beverly Hills,” he said.

City officials said that a “16-foot sound barrier will be installed along the south side of the S. Reeves Dr. closure area to help minimize construction noise,” city officials said.
City officials have also provided a map for detour routes. You can find it HERE.
