Sheriff Robert Luna and homicide detectives reached out to the public Monday for help finding the killer or killers of a 22- year-old woman who died during a 2024 car-to-car shooting near South Los Angeles.

A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
The shooting occurred around 7:45 p.m. July 2, 2024, as Raejonette Morgan was traveling on Vermont Avenue in a white Mercedes-Benz moments before approaching the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in Westmont, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Morgan was approached by a 2016-2018 blue two-door Honda Civic with a spoiler, louvers on the rear window, black wheels, and a loud exhaust. The driver of the Honda shot at Morgan several times, causing her to crash near a Vermont Avenue on-ramp to the 105 Freeway. The driver's side of Morgan's car was riddled with bullets.
The suspect vehicle fled the scene south on Vermont.
Morgan, who was studying criminal justice at Los Angeles City College, died at a hospital two days after the shooting.
"Raejonette Morgan's life was taken in a deliberate and senseless act of violence, and her family deserves answers," Luna said in a statement. "We believe someone in the community has information that can help us identify those responsible. This increased reward reflects our continued commitment to seeking justice and holding the suspects accountable."
