A fugitive appeared in federal court in Los Angeles on Monday following his arrest earlier this month in Arizona on charges of attempted enticement of a minor and possession of child sexual abuse material.
KNX News' Emily Valdez reports that the FBI says 47-year-old Christopher Michael Loza, who went by the online name of "ChrisLewd," was busted by a Ventura County child exploitation task force in 2023 when he allegedly went to meet up with someone he thought was a 15-year-old girl for sex.

A spokesperson for the FBI, Laura Eimiller, said, "He was tracked and ultimately arrested in a park in the Camarillo area. When he was arrested, he was actually found with a flash drive with images of prepubescent minors."
She says Loza bailed out and then skipped town but was arrested on August 2 of this year in Phoenix. By that time, the FBI had taken over the case.
Eimiller said due to the nature of a case involving someone allegedly willing to meet with a minor to have sex, they believe there may be victims out there.
If Loza is convicted on all charges, he will face a maximum of life in prison.
