LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Beginning Monday, outer lanes of Lower World Way, the arrivals level at Los Angeles International Airport, will close overnight for more than two weeks as crews build a new pedestrian bridge.
Airport officials announced Friday that the closure will be in effect from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, lasting through March 9. An additional closure is also scheduled for 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. on April 4.

LAX officials planned to have traffic detoured to the lower arrivals level inner lanes. They’ve warned travelers to watch for posted signs and use caution when driving through construction zones.
The bridge under construction will connect the Terminal 1 extension to the Automated People Mover Central Terminal Area Station when it’s built.
The Automated People Mover, once complete, will stretch 2.25 miles and have six total stations — three inside the Central Terminal Area and three outside, which will connect the train system to the L.A. Metro and a car rental facility.
The train system is expected to be completed in 2023, with a full modernization of LAX expected to be done ahead of the 2028 Summer Olympic Games held in L.A.
