LOS ANGELES (KNX) — All southbound lanes of Interstate 15 were closed around 2:30 p.m. Friday, following a fatal crash near Oak Hill Road, just east of Cajon Junction in San Bernardino County.
As of 3:17 p.m. Caltrans said one lane of Interstate 15 was available to southbound traffic at the junction of State Route 138, saying the number four lane had been reopened.
While Caltrans and California Highway Patrol have not confirmed that the cause of the backup is a fatal collision, KNX Traffic Reporter Brian Douglas reports that the fatal crash involved a motorcycle.
The backup begins right before the Ranchero Road exit, halfway between Oak Hill and SR-138, according to Douglas.
He suggests southbound drivers, if they have the opption, exit at Main Street and head due west to hit SR-138 so they can go around the crash traffic and return to southbound I-15.
