SpaceX launches Starlink internet satellites from Vandenberg

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying Starlink internet satellites was successfully launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base Monday.

It was part of two launches -- the other was at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida -- Sunday with 45 satellites on board to put in orbit.

The Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg was carrying 22 satellites and launched at 9:57 p.m. Sunday. The rocket from the Kennedy Space Center was carrying 23 satellites and launched at 9:15 p.m. Sunday.

SpaceX is a satellite communications and space exploration company founded in 2002 with headquarters in Hawthorne.
