The L.A. County Department of Public Health is warning the public to stay clear of local beaches for the next several days.
With all the rain in recent weeks, the contaminated trash that collects on sidewalks and in the gutters has washed back out into the ocean.
Hitching a ride on all that debris are bacteria and viruses like E coli, hepatitis A, and salmonella - stuff that could really make you sick.

As KNX News' Emily Valdez reports, a few days and plenty of sunlight are required to clear up the ocean water and lift the quality advisory.
According to the L.A. County Public Heath website, the advisory will stay in effect until 3 PM Saturday but warns it may be extended depending upon further rainfall.
