A 59-year-old man was facing possible murder charges Monday after his arrest in connection with a fatal shooting at an Anaheim motel over the weekend.

Anaheim Police Department officers and Anaheim firefighters responded about 6:10 p.m. Saturday to the Villa Inn at 733 S. Beach Boulevard following a report of a shooting, according to Anaheim police Sgt. Matt Sutter.
"Officers arrived and found the victim, a male adult in his 60s, suffering from at least one gunshot wound," Sutter said.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene and took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later, Sutter said.
"Patrol officers at the motel quickly identified a suspect," Sutter said. Amir Karkehabadi, a 59-year-old Anaheim resident, was detained without incident at the motel. There are no outstanding suspects. A handgun was located at the scene.
Anaheim Police homicide detectives were investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting.
The nature of the relationship between the suspect and the victim was being withheld. The victim's identity was confirmed but was withheld pending family notification.
Karkehabadi was booked at on suspicion of murder. The case will be presented to the Orange County District Attorney's Office for possible prosecution.
