Paulisin was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, resisting arrest and assault with a deadly weapon, Braun said.
The deputy was treated for a neck wound and released from a hospital Tuesday night and was expected to fully recover, Braun said.
The deputy, on patrol with a partner conducting homeless outreach, was assaulted about 2:15 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Avenida Pico and Calle de Los Molinos, according to Braun.
