Suspect shot by LAPD officers in Winnetka

A suspect was shot during a confrontation with Los Angeles Police Department officers Tuesday in Winnetka and an investigation is underway.

LAPD officers responded at approximately 2:11 a.m. Tuesday to an apartment complex in the 2000 block of Saticoy Street and Oso Avenue regarding a 911 call, LAPD Officer Kevin Terzes told City News Service.

ABC 7 reported witnesses told arriving officers a man was seen breaking windows with a baseball bat and after the officers confronted him, the suspect was shot.

The man was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition, ABC 7 said. No officers were wounded during the shooting.
