A teddy bear made of fake human skin was so realistic, it led to a response by law enforcement in Victorville.
On Sunday, deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department responded to the AMPM store at Bear Valley Rd. and Amethyst Rd.where the bear was found outside, according to KABC.
The coroner's office also responded and took the bear away.
Artist Robert Kelley of Dark Seed Creations in South Carolina created the bear (which is made out of latex). He told KNX News that he remembered mailing it to someone in Victorville in what was a routine order from Etsy.
Then he started to get a ton of messages.
“I thought people were pulling my leg until it just got more and more and more and more and then we started looking it up and I was like, ‘oh wow, this is actually happening,” he said.
Kelley said while he likes that his work looks realistic enough to fool people, in no way does he condone pulling a prank that gets law enforcement involved.

“I wanna be proud of my work and really excited at the fact that it was able to create that stir, while at the same time not necessarily condoning that it was done,” he said.
He added that he contacted the sheriff's department but hasn't heard back.
KNX News 97.1 FM has also reached out to the sheriff’s department and is waiting to hear back.
