LOS ANGELES (CNS) - An 18-year-old man was killed Saturday during an attempted robbery in the Vermont Knolls neighborhood of South Los Angeles, police said.

Los Angeles Police Department officers were called to 7126 Western Ave. at Florence Avenue at 12:38 a.m. Saturday where they learned four suspects approached the victim and fired several shots at him before fleeing in a vehicle, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
The victim was taken to a hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel, where he was pronounced dead.
There was no suspect or vehicle description available.
