For the first time since the Palisades Fire, Temescal Canyon Road is open again from Pacific Coast Highway.
“This morning, we finally, after 7 months, reopened to Temescal Canyon,” Council member Traci Park told KNX News’ Craig Fiegener. “Of course, that is one of the three major ways in and out of the Palisades from PCH and so, without it, there have been a lot of traffic and congestion issues.”
Park said the area was closed because the Army Corps was using the road between PCH and Sunset to break down and recycle 100 tons of fire debris.
While she hailed this as a small victory, she also warned people that if they go up Temescal Canyon now, they'll still see a lot of mess.

“There are still a lot of details that need to be done,” she said. “The sidewalks aren't completely swept yet. Temescal Canyon Park is not fully ready for reopening. So, there is more to do, but even just the improved access is something to celebrate right now in the Palisades.”
She said this comes as schools such as Marquez Charter School and Calvary Christian School are set to open.
