A brief outburst of violence at UCLA amid the encampment and protest left one woman detained by campus security.

As KNX News' Pete Demetriou reports, the incident happened just before 2:00 in the afternoon when a pro-Israeli demonstrator tried to get past barricades surrounding the pro-Palestinian encampment.

A woman began attacking the man, ripping apart his sign and assaulting him.

When people began yelling at the woman to stop, chaos broke out.

The woman flashed a taser at the crowd and activated it several times, which gained the attention of campus security, who eventually detained and escorted her away.

It was not immediately clear if the woman would be charged with carrying a weapon.

UCLA administrators have not commented on the protests since Sunday, saying at that time, they were dismayed that certain individuals chose to jeopardize the physical safety of the community rather than gathering in peaceful protest and that additional security personnel would be on hand to monitor the situation.
