Police and neighbors in sections of Hollywood, West Hollywood, and Beverly Grove are keeping their eyes out for a team of thieves targeting high-priced trucks and SUVs and pulling off parts for resale.
Fox L.A. spoke with some car owners who have had their tires stolen from them. The outlet also noted that the suspects in the incidents are two men in a white van.
Michael told KNX News’ Pete Demetriou he saw the evidence of one of their hits on Hayworth Ave.
“I saw a truck one block away from me the other day that had two cinder blocks,” he said. “So I was wondering whether it was the person that had to replace the tires themselves because it was a little bizarre. But yeah, I did notice that. It was interesting.”
Abraham, who lives in the Beverly Grove area, said a Lamborghini SUV that was parked on his street was hit just a few nights ago..
“I saw a high-value vehicle parked on the side of the street with two tires off of the vehicle completely, and it was sitting on top of bricks,” he told Demetriou. “It's weird these days. You don't even know because it may be anybody.”
Police are hoping to get footage of the thieves or the plates on their van.
