Tow truck driver fatally shot in downtown LA responding to a stalled car

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Authorities identified a tow truck driver today who was fatally shot while working on a stalled vehicle in downtown Los Angeles.
  The shooting occurred at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Eighth and Mateo streets, said Officer A. Delatorre of the Los Angeles Police Department's Operations Center.
  The victim was identified by the Los Angeles County coroner's office as Michael McGarry, 26, whose city of residence was unknown
  A witness who heard a gunshot found McGarry bleeding from the neck and drove him to the nearby guard shack at the Los Angeles Times Olympic Printing Plant at 2000 E. Eighth St., where he was pronounced dead, Delatorre said.
  No suspect information was available.
