A tree trimmer who was electrocuted while being trapped in a tree in the Cheviot Hills area was identified Wednesday by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner's office.
The tree trimmer, identified Wednesday as Noel Gonzalz Sixtos, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene. Firefighters sent to the 10300 block of West Glenbarr Avenue Tuesday at about 1:20 p.m. saw the man about 20 to 25 feet up the tree, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
Stewart said late Tuesday afternoon that Sixtos was "unresponsive and appears to have been electrocuted."
Los Angeles Department of Water and Power workers were sent to the location to deactivate the power lines, Stewart said.
Fire crews were working to recover the victim's body so that the medical examiner could conduct an investigation.
