A truck driver was killed in a crash in Costa Mesa on Monday.
The commercial truck slammed into a sport-utility vehicle about 8:40 a.m. at Fairview Road and Sunflower Avenue, said Roxi Fyad, a spokeswoman for the Costa Mesa Police Department.

The truck flipped onto its side and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, Fyad said.
The driver of the SUV was taken to an area hospital with moderate injuries, Fyad said.
