Video captures Trump supporter in Santee Starbucks telling barista 'f*** Black Lives Matters' when asked to don a mask
A woman was captured by cellphone video Sunday in a Starbucks in Santee berating a barista and proclaiming her right not to wear a mask.
Alex Beckom, 19, says the woman came in wearing a "Trump 2020" mask, which she pulled down while asking Beckom a question. When Beckom requested the woman put the mask back on, she became hostile, and a customer recorded the incident.
"I'm not gonna listen to anything you say to me, when you talk to me like that," the customer is heard saying.
"Okay, that's fine, but next time when you come in I'm going to need you to keep your mask on," Beckom responded in the video.
"I told her that, so if she ever came back, the customer and staff would be protected," says Beckom.
The customer then became outraged, accusing Beckom of discriminating against her for being a Trump supporter, saying, "F*** Black Lives Matter."
"If she thinks she's being discriminated against, that's on her. I never brought up anything about he politics ... I wasn't even angry. I was just like, "Why is this happening?" said Beckom.
Beckom told her that the coffee chain required all customers to don a mask. To which the woman responded, "No, it's not a law. I'll show you the penal code. It's a hoax. I don't have to wear a mask. I'm not going to wear a mask. This isAmerica, and I don't have to do what you say. Trump 2020 ... F*** you," said the customer, yelling as she stormed out.
The customer wasn't quite done and returned, yelling, "F*** Black Lives Matter," said Beckom.
