VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (KNX) – Two Ventura County Sheriff's detectives were sent to the hospital Tuesday morning after being exposed to a “substance” which made them sick.

The detectives were exposed to the substance as they were serving a warrant to an apartment on W. Sherman Way in Reseda, NBC Los Angeles reported. The warrant was in connection to a burglary, which occurred in January.

A detective reportedly inhaled a powder-like substance, causing her to lose consciousness, Ventura County Sheriff’s Capt. Denise Silva told CBS L.A.

Both detectives are in stable condition. A woman who was in the apartment when the incident occurred was also treated and is expected to be ok.

Silva also told CBS L.A. the detectives had kits on them designed to treat drug exposure and used that until paramedics arrived.

Crews from the Los Angeles Fire Department tested the substance, but it’s unclear what the substance was.

It’s unclear if any arrests were made.
