LOS ANGELES (KNX) — UCLA University Police are asking anyone on and around the campus to keep an eye out for a vehicle related to an on-campus robbery Monday.
The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. in De Neve Plaza while the victim, a student at UCLA, was meeting with a man they had agreed to sell something to, university police said in a statement.
As the victim was talking to the first suspect, they told police they saw two other men waiting in the car. One of those men exited the vehicle as the sale was underway, police said, just as the victim was trying to get his property back from the first suspect.
Police said at least one of the men punched the victim and he suffered minor injuries, according to City News Service.
Ultimately the two men were able to get away with the victim's property after jumping back into the car, described as a 2009 4-door teal Saturn Aura with California license plate 8EGX642, and the third suspect drove off.
Suspect one, pictured in surveillance footage near the front passenger door of the getaway vehicle, is described as a slim man about 5'9" with brown eyes, afro-style hair, last seen wearing a blue sweater and gray sweat pants.
The victim was unable to provide much of a description for the other two men.
Anyone with information about the crime or who sees the car or suspects is asked to call UCLA University Police at 310-825-1491.
