There was a ground stop at LAX on Monday after a United Airlines 787 had to turn back shortly after takeoff because one of the engines caught fire.

Flight 2127 made the return about half an hour into the flight. The plane landed safely and was able to make it off the runway as LAX Fire was waiting to put out the reported fire in its left engine.

Some passengers could be seen using those emergency slides to evacuate the plane.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

The ground stop was lifted a little after 12 p.m.
