International USC students are urgently being directed to return to the U.S. before the inauguration of President-elect Trump on January 20th.
With the new administration taking office soon, USC is saying anything can happen, like an executive order, for example, which could impact a student's visa status.

According to an advisory from the USC Office of International Services this week, students could be denied entry for traveling during winter break if they hold an F-1 or J-1 visa.
"While there's no certainty such orders will be issued, the safest way to avoid any challenges is to be physically present in the U.S. before the Spring semester begins on January 13, 2025," read a portion of the email sent to students.
A hotline and legal assistance center has been set up to offer guidance and connect students to an attorney if needed.
The University said any student detained by U.S. immigration officials at an airport or land border port of entry can call the USC Immigration Clinic Hotline at 213-740-7435.
